On Tuesday, Vice President Kamala Harris is off for a full day to get ready for pre-recorded interviews with NBC News and Telemundo. As Election Day approaches, Harris seems to be feeling the immense pressure of running against former President Donald Trump.

Harris has been spotted looking fatigued and stressed out at recent public appearances, which many believe make it difficult for her to sustain the intense campaigning schedule. She looked pretty depleted last week at a brief Detroit performance, where she took the stage for just six minutes and 36 seconds. The skit led to rumors that she was fatigued and unable to manage the rigors of the campaign trail.

Further complicating matters, Harris also broke down during her Michigan visit, reportedly exploding when challenged. This, coupled with a light schedule on the public stage, has also created speculation that her staff are locking her away from the public eye to avoid any further negative press attention.

President Trump, who has been campaigning in key battleground states, had the opportunity to make an expletive of Harris during a Latino roundtable in Doral, Florida. “She’s sleeping right now. She couldn’t go on the trail. You’d think when you have 14 days left, you wouldn’t be sleeping,” Trump said, poking fun at Harris’s day off.

The Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville even said Harris’s absence on the campaign trail was due to her handlers attempting to keep her out of the spotlight. “I think they’re just trying to keep her off camera to be honest with you,” Tuberville said in an interview last week.

In an election race getting tighter, Harris’s latest act leaves one wondering if her campaign strategy will survive the last mile to Election Day. Since Trump is engaging voters and on a tight schedule, Harris’s use of time off for prerecorded interviews will not appeal to voters that demand energetic leadership.
