In a recent appearance on War Room with Steve Bannon, political commentator Tucker Carlson made a bold prediction about the future of Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk if Vice President Kamala Harris wins the 2024 presidential election. Carlson suggested that Musk, a high-profile Trump supporter and federal contractor, would face significant repercussions, saying, “Elon Musk joked to me, and I think he has, many times, that he’s going to go to prison if Trump loses. I don’t know if he’s going to prison, but he’ll be destroyed for sure.”

Musk, whose companies Tesla and SpaceX hold substantial government contracts worth over $3 billion, has been vocal in his support for Trump throughout the election season. Musk has appeared at Trump rallies, leveraged his platform on X (formerly Twitter) to promote pro-Trump content, and initiated a voter mobilization effort by offering a monetary lottery prize for those signing a petition supporting the First and Second Amendments in swing states. However, this initiative has drawn scrutiny, as the Justice Department is investigating the legality of the lottery effort, raising concerns that it may violate federal election laws.

Carlson argued that Musk’s vocal support for Trump has not come without risk, as Musk’s high-profile federal contracts make him vulnerable to potential political backlash if Harris wins. Carlson suggested that Musk, aware of the potential consequences, has committed himself to Trump’s campaign, encouraging other prominent figures to do the same, despite the risks. “You see people with a lot to lose on Trump’s side, and they’ve said so publicly,” Carlson remarked. “They are marked for destruction if this doesn’t work, so they will be at Trump’s side in the aftermath if this is contested.”

Carlson believes that a contested election scenario would see Trump rallying even more support than he did in 2020, as Musk and other influential allies have increased their commitment. Carlson expressed hope, however, that a contested election could be avoided, stating, “I’ll pray that it isn’t [contested], you know. I think all of us do, on both sides, pray that it’s not contested.”

Bannon, who was released from prison last week after serving a four-month sentence for contempt of Congress related to the January 6 investigation, joined Carlson in expressing confidence in Trump’s chances, claiming he is “100 percent certain” of a Trump victory. Bannon’s predictions align with the broader sentiment among Trump’s loyalists, who see Musk and others as vital figures in the campaign’s final push to victory.

Carlson and Bannon’s conversation comes at a time of heightened tension, as supporters from both sides brace for possible disputes over the election results. With Musk actively involved in promoting Trump and other high-stakes supporters in the wings, Carlson’s comments underscore the intense political divide and the potential consequences for those taking a public stand in such a polarized environment.
