In a 20-minute video released on Thursday, October 31, YouTube influencer-turned-boxer Jake Paul announced his support for Donald Trump in the upcoming 2024 presidential election, imploring his vast online following to back Trump in what he calls a critical moment for America. Although he has given up his voting rights after relocating to Puerto Rico, Paul stated, “That doesn’t mean I can’t present my 80 million large audience with proper facts, numbers, and data to encourage them to vote in the proper direction to quite literally save America.”

Starting with a rebuke of comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, who recently made a disparaging joke about Puerto Rico at a Trump rally, Paul was quick to distance the comments from Trump’s stance. “These aren’t Donald Trump’s views; it was a comedian who made a bad joke,” Paul clarified before pivoting to the many issues he feels Trump can address.

Outlining his concerns, Paul expressed dissatisfaction with America’s current state, citing “wars, health, guns, jobs, economy, inflation, border control, freedom of speech.” He argued that Americans feel more divided than ever and pointed to Democratic leadership as a factor in the nation’s troubles, saying, “Democrats have been in power for 12 of the last 16 years, so if we aren’t happy… then who is to blame?”

In his endorsement, Paul critiqued the “liberal media” for casting Trump in a negative light and emphasized Trump’s business acumen. “I’m not concerned with Donald Trump’s character flaws or what he’s done in the past. What I’m concerned with is how good of a president he is,” Paul stated, underscoring his belief that Trump’s leadership benefits the nation.

Touching on divisive issues like abortion, Paul defended Trump’s stance, arguing that Trump’s approach returns power to individual states rather than imposing federal mandates. “What rights as a woman were taken away from you?” he asked. “The answer is none,” while urging viewers to consider more than one issue in their voting decision.

Further, Paul highlighted what he believes to be Trump’s strength in foreign policy, emphasizing that during Trump’s first term, “there was peace in the world.” He pointed to the administration’s involvement in the wars in Ukraine and Israel as a misuse of funds that could instead aid Americans in need. In one pointed remark, Paul said, “Imagine Vladimir Putin, one of the most powerful, hard men on the planet in a meeting with Kamala Harris talking about war. Yeah, right.”

Closing his message, Paul suggested that world leaders respect Trump and that this respect fostered a more peaceful global stage during his presidency, citing Trump’s diplomatic efforts with leaders like North Korea’s Kim Jong-un and Russia’s Vladimir Putin. “That is why the world was at peace,” Paul concluded, making his case for why he believes Trump should return to the White House.
